Thank you to a kaleidoscopic marketing tech community

Marketing Technology Thanksgiving 2015

It’s the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S. tomorrow, and I want to take the occasion to say a heartfelt “thank you” to — first and foremost — you, dear reader.

Over the past year, chiefmartec.com has grown to more than 75,000 regular readers. I am deeply honored that you’ve taken the time to read this blog and share it with your friends and colleagues. More than ever, it feels like a real community has blossomed within the marketing technology space and among the marketing technologists who work in it. I’m very grateful to be a part of it and interconnected with so many of you — I love this stuff.

This community has become even more tangible with the growth of the MarTech conference this year and the opportunity to meet so many of you in person. Our events in San Francisco and London this year were really special experiences for me — they were big gulps from the firehose, learning about so many of the amazing things that people are doing at the dazzling intersection of these two noble disciplines. I am immensely grateful to all of the speakers, advisors, attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors who participated — and very thankful for the wonderful people at Third Door Media who produce MarTech.

I am also excited about the next MarTech conference coming up in San Francisco, March 21-22. We have had hundreds of terrific sessions proposed. It’s been extremely humbling to read through so many great ideas, knowing that we can only fit a fraction of them into our 2-day event. We’ll be announcing the agenda early in December, so more to say about it soon, but for now, I am just incredibly thankful for everyone who contributed suggestions.

Above all, I’m grateful to the spectacular array of people whom I’ve had the privilege to learn more about marketing technology from this year — from blog posts, reports, presentations, and discussions over coffee or beer. There are so many smart, talented, and inspiring folks working in this space, and not a week goes by that I don’t hear or read something that sparks the fire of wonderment for me. And that’s a gift for which I am deeply appreciative.

Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, wherever you are in the world, I wish you the best for the closing of 2015. And for our connection, be it small or large, thank you.
