The above chart was published by CB Insights in their article 60+ Tech Startups To Enhance Your Valentine’s Day and brought to my attention by my friend Ann Handley on Twitter. A good public service reminder, in case you need a last minute direct-to-consumer save.
My first thought: wow, I picked the wrong sector to cover. Can you imagine how much fun those demos are?
But it was a fleeting thought, as my professional heart belongs to martech. I remain awed and amazed on a daily basis by the incredible people I have the joy to meet, learn from, and work with in this space. It’s such a blessing to be able to do what you love for a living — one that I am deeply grateful for and continually humbled by.
However, with my training in customer journey mapping, I couldn’t help taking one more look at the above “lovetech” landscape and rearranging the categories in order:
- Sex tech
- Cards & photos
- Jewelry & watches
Ha ha, just kidding on that last one. (As I get rightfully punched in the arm by my better half.)
